1099b Looking for cost basis information for my RSU - TurboTax Support
Greetings - I did a similar dig into my eTrade statements for my RSUs since the eTrade 1099 is sadly missing this key info. What you need is deep in the eTrade website. Go to Trading & Portfolios --> View Orders --> Order & History --> Enter dates 01/01/2013 - 12/31/2013 --> Search. You'll see your transactions listed there. If you click on the "Order #" hyperlink, a detail window will appear beneath the transaction line. That detail contains the values of the commissions and - most important for your taxes - the "Taxes Withheld" piece. This latter part is what I put into my Cost Basis column in Turbo Tax. Note: I'm am NOT a tax professional (not at all. not even close.) but I did this last year as well. Hope this helps.
