Apply formatting with the paint format tool - Docs editors Help
To copy formatting from one section of text, set of cells, or object to another in a document, spreadsheet, or presentation, use the paint format tool.
- Open your document, spreadsheet, or drawing.
- Select the text, range of cells, or object where you want to copy the formatting.
- In the toolbar, click the Paint format icon .
- Select the text, range of cells, or object you want to paste the formatting onto.
- The formatting will automatically change to reflect the original formatting you copied.
Keyboard shortcuts
To copy the formatting of selected text:
- Press Ctrl + Alt + C (Windows or Chrome OS) or Cmd + Option + C (Mac).
To apply the formatting you copied to a different text selection:
- Press Ctrl + Alt + V (Windows or Chrome OS) or Cmd + Option + V (Mac).
