Ad Networks For Small Publishers

Ad Networks For Small Publishers

While I was writing my last article, 10 CPM Advertising Networks, I came to realize there aren't many networks tailored to the lower traffic web sites. A lot of them require a certain amount of visitors per month or per day to even be considered. Well, the truth is all of us don't have a user base able to pull in hundreds of thousands of visitors a month. We want to have a starting chance too right? It's kind of discouraging to not see anything for our work. And  even harder still to keep this up when it seems like its going no where  fast. So this is dedicated to you, the small publisher that still wants to monetize their web sites.

1.) Google Adsense

I figured I'd start with the most obvious. Google Adsense is probably the most popular advertising network out. It's generally easy to get into as long as you follow what I like to call "Google Law." I've heard many horror stories about how Google terminated my account for this or for that. So my advice is to thoroughly look over their terms and rules before making changes to your website after your ads are up. At the same time I use them with no problem so their rules aren't ridiculously strict. They are mostly CPC (Cost Per Click) ads, but certain ads do pay on a CPM (Cost Per Mille) basis.

2.) Clicksor

This is another network that I use. Clicksor accepts a wide variety of websites. They are also one of the few that allow adult content. Aside from that they offer a wide range of ad types to suite your needs. You can choose from interstitial, CPC, CPM, inline text, and pop-unders. There aren't too many rejected by Clicksor stories out there so unless you have a blatantly illegal website you shouldn't have any worries.
